Building the protocol no single vendor can credibly own.

When an AI agent acts inside a company's systems, someone must be able to prove which person authorised it: offline, and without trusting the agent's vendor. No platform vendor can be that neutral verifier. We are building the protocol that can.

Why Manav exists

Machine identities already outnumber people by more than 80 to 1 in the average organisation (CyberArk, 2025). Gartner expects a third of enterprise software to include agentic AI by 2028, and at least 15% of day-to-day work decisions to be made autonomously (Gartner, 2025).

When an agent does the wrong thing, the first question is "who authorised this?" Today there is rarely a good answer. A session token does not prove a person was present, and a vendor's own attestation does not carry across company boundaries. Manav adds the missing piece: a fresh human signature at each consequential moment, and a receipt any downstream system can check offline.

What "neutral" means

A company cannot credibly verify its competitor's agents. Shared infrastructure tends to be run by neutral parties: ICANN for domain names, Let's Encrypt for TLS certificates, SWIFT for interbank messages. Manav is designed for that role. The specification is published openly, anyone can implement a verifier, and checking a receipt never requires us.

What we do not do We do not surveil workers. We do not store biometric templates. We do not keep a behavioural profile. We do not sit in the verification path of every transaction. And there is no token: verifying a human never requires one.

Open by default

The receipt format and statement rules are published as specification drafts. The offline verifier is Apache-2.0 licensed and ships to evaluating customers today; the public repository is not open yet. TheWorkCompany LLC, the company behind Manav, runs the issuer, the dashboard and enterprise support. The protocol is the public good; the infrastructure is the business.

Manav is built by TheWorkCompany LLC, a United States company. Its legal entity, registered address, company number and EU/UK representatives are on the company details page. During an evaluation you deal with the engineers who wrote the protocol, not a sales team.
